How can i test the fan to see if the motor is bad ?

Start up the quad take the lead off the sender on the thermostat
housing and ground it to the frame, If the fan turns on it's good if not it's bad.

Well the fan works , do alot of u guys just keep it grounded to the frame so it runs the whole time ?

If your machine is running at proper temperture, it is not necessary.

well when i hook the fan up it dnt work , it only works when i ground it to the frame

I didnt think mine worked either, but it came on today at the track. I let a buddy ride it and he putted around in 1st gear and it came on.

ya takes alot to get them to run. i had mine wired to run all the time when i had one.

I had an 06 and now i have an 08 and out of the both of them i had my fan turn on once. It takes a lot to get the honda's hot but some riders like to wire them so they constantly run which is not a bad thing at all. I run Engine Ice in all my machines and recommend it to all my customers which really keeps the engine cool. For a backup I have an engine temp sticker on the engine that I check periodically making sure she is not running too hot.

It won't hurt to keep the fan running at all times ? and i wanna put a switch on my bars to turn it on and off but i gotta find a switch
