why its a quad just like any other and because I trail ride with it instead of race you feel bad for it? Its serviced on time always looked over before riding and theres no more wear and tear on it doing that than there would be racing. I think racing would really be harder on the machine.

i dont think it was designed to be mud bogged. all im saying is that cant be good for seals, bushings and what not.

Looks good. :) I still prefer my normal knobies but I go with 22" I find the extra clearance helps more than the extra traction

i dont see anything wrong with what he is doing? going on an MX track does 100X more damage to our bikes then that does. 10 bucks says he hasnt broken his frame in 5 spots. plus its not the going mudding that messes up the seals/bearins and whatnots. its presure washing them is what messes them up.

ride however you wana ride. MX/mud/desert/wheelie/freestyle its all love of the sport

yea i have no complaints about the holeshot hd's i had i loved them just thought i'd try something new. And yea extra clearance is always nice. One guy i ride with has a Polaris 550 outlaw with IRS and watching him go over some **** is insane. But I still prefer a sold rear.

poor quad.....get a 4x4 destroy it? How much money have you put into yours?

I've done brakes twice and its been almost 5 years since i bought it. Other than that and Oil changes every 10hours and I replaced the Chain and Sprockets even though they still looked fine when I replaced the Carrier barring since i had it apart. Nothing else mechanical has happend except for the rear carrier barring going a few months back and for 4.5 years of riding thats not bad. Everything else money wise has been **** that i did fcuking up like hitting a tree last month and bending the front a-arm or a while back being in tall grass and bending the tierod.

Exactly; ride your money the way you want to ride it! I never stopped my 400ex or my 250r just because I see a dirty mud puddle. For me, mixed terrain is what I have the most fun riding on!! I had holeshots on my 400ex and had that thing thru some crazy river crossings; and my 250r with razr2's surprises me even more!

dont sweat it.

There are two types of riders out there. There are those that ride then get the quad home and wash, wax, rub and buff so they look all spiffy the next time they are on the track or sand.

Then there are those that use and abuse their quads. Take them to the mountains and trails through mud and rocks, climbing hills and wrapping them up in the trees and off the side of mountains. Then, Knock the mud off the underside of the fenders, spray them off with the hose in the yard once every couple rides but do scheduled preventative maint. religiously.

in the end, both groups had fun and if their quad is of descent brand and quality all the major parts will last about the same duration.

what is mud and water really going to hurt beside brake pads, rotors, chain and sprokets? Everything else is sealed.

i mud my 400ex sometimes... so if i put a pic up of it going through a mud hole you would all tell me im not riding it right? god some people on this site piss me off.

If you think those mudlites sling the slop...one of my riding buddies has a LT500 Quadzilla with 22" Realtors out back . They're the closest thing you can get to a paddle/knobby cross tire ever, and when that thing lites up, it doesn't matter what the terrain is...it sprays it EVERYWHERE!!

I used to have some Realtors for my 250r. I mostly got them for winter in the snow. They made people really really hate riding behind me. That quad was very top end oriented so it did lots and lots of spinning untill it got up to speed
