View Full Version : Please help me with my ex
Today I pulled my plug on the ex I bought used about 3 weeks ago. It has always ran ok the 3 times I've rode it, except it was hard starting quad, and sometimes cuts out while idling. Well the plug is whit. I am no expert, but I know that means it's running lean. The quad is all stock except for a Twin Air Filter. Can I get some advice on what would be the best route on fixing my problem. I am a newbie to quad wrenching, so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Thats really all you can do is rejet to a bigger size. If the tip is white where is firing off of.

If its white its definately lean, and getting it jetted properly is very important. As for the hard starting, a bigger jet will help with that, but your valves could be too tight as well (less likely).

A basic question but... You do have filter oil on that filter right?

I just purchased a new Velocity air filter (not yet installed), would that need filter oil on it as well?

That will take a K&N type filter oil from any auto parts store.
