no u cannot, the intake of a 2 stroke is completely differant then a 4-stroke. But if u want tell your friend that Extreme Motorsports will sell him a great set of reeds for his 4 stroke!;) :D

i was always under the impression that you put them on 2 strokes with dual intake manifolds to equalize the pressure hence the banshee but i never heard of anybody ever makeing one for a 4 stroke unless your buddy is refering to a bottle fed 4 stroke hence nitrous i've heard them refeard to as boost bottles before

Isn't the boost bottle supposed to improve performance at low rpm's? Why would you need one on a four stroke?

Yes, you can put a boost bottle on a four stroke. Will it help you - doubtfull. Many of the Japanese autos use some form of boost bottle to improve drivability. It was used more in the days of carborators. On a two stroke - some of the old Yamahas used them on their single cylinders to improve throtle response and other driveability issues. However it did not improve WOT hp. On a banshee yamaha used a balance tube between the intakes and some guys are replacing it with a bottle. On a full mod. banshee I have not seen that it helped the bike in any way.
So if it can be done - You loose.
Is it practical - No.

Ok, so how does it work? What does the boost bottle actually DO?

Ok, so it seems that the same backrush of air that closes the reeds will cause a small amount of air to backrush through the carb, which causes a host of problems at low rpm. A boost bottle helps to alleviate this.

Do I have this right?

So then, since four-strokes don't have the same backrush of air (hence, they don't need reeds) it doesn't cause the problems. They don't need a bottle at all. ever.

So the answer would be, no, you can't put a boost bottle on a four stroke.

Save the flames, I realize it is physically possible. You can also put reeds and a tuned pipe on a bald monkey...

a boost bottle on a 4 stroke new one to me i hope your friend is talking about a little blue bottle,or you could tell him he was right and he nedded to put one on his 4 stroke because you heard it gave it 50 hp .............................

Yes, the monkey has to be bald, because you usually use a hot glue gun. If he isn't bald, it burns the hair an smell somthin' fierce...

Do you do it a different way? How else you gonna get 60hp out of a monkey? :huh
