If you want to run the Sparks key with 11:1 compression, do NOT run any less than 100 octane fuel. Also, seriously consider additional cooling, either an auxillary cooler or a SPAL fan.
I tried the Sparks key earlier this year with my 11.3:1 440 stroker and it had a ping in the mid-range--even with 100 octane fuel and the added cooling properties of E85 and the fan.
I removed the Sparks key, cut the stocker for a 4 degree advance and the mid range ping disappeared.
