i have an 06 outlaw 500, i keep hearing about these oil screens, can someone explain what and where these are? how often are you supposed to clean them, cause i've never done it. thanks for the help guys, saw

The 2 oil screen you keep hearing about are on the 525 Outlaw.

The oil screens are only on the KTM powered Outlaws. There are 2 (also 2 oil filters). One is located directly under the center of the engine- need to remove a hex nut through an access hole under the skid plate and the second is on the left side of the engine under a standard plug behind the shift lever and the brake cable assembly. Easier to get to if remove the shift lever. Should clean them each and every time you change the oil and filters.

You replace the oil filters with new ones. The screens you just clean with brake cleaner and compressed air. Be careful not to damage them of course.
