400ex 87 250x?

has any one ever put a 400ex motor on a 87 250x frame? i was told it would happen just have 2 make mounts?:D i have a 87 250 x and a 2006 250ex i love hondas so if any one could please help me out with this i would appricate it thanks

sure it could be done.. thats quite a bit of engine for that frame though.

idk its a pretty sturdy frame its just like the 300ex frames accutly its the 300 frames just with a 250 motor on it

i'm talking about handling. will it be on stock suspension?

Good luck trying to get that engine in there without hacking the frame any. We had to cut the lower part of the frame rails to get a 350x engine in a 87 250x frame. But this was years ago you might be able to get it in there but my question is why. 400ex frames are cheap and interchangeable why go thru the trouble of fabing to make it do like a stock 400ex.

I've done 2 350x/250x conversions and besides shaving the back motor mount down a little on the 350x motor it's practically a drop in deal. You do not have to touch the 250x frame at all. If you did, something goofy was going on.

As far as installing a 400ex motor in a 250x frame, not only is it a horrible paring of a really strong engine in a frame with poor geometry and flat out crappy suspension, the motor is a bit bigger then the 350x/250x motors. If you're looking for a sizable boost in power the 350x engine is a great, almost overkill engine for that frame.

idk i only bought the 4 wheller for 60 bucks i brought it home and got it runnin but it just isnt enough and i love how the 400ex runs and its got fox shocks all the way around im still going 2 keep the 250x look and stickers on it tho

its going 2 have fox racing shocks i thought i put them on but i havnt yet
