Well I sold my trx450r and bought a 2006 Yz125. With less than ten hours on it. Its mint. Well, bikes just arent for me. So im going back to quads.

My quad had everything but suspension and motor work. Im kinda looking for the same thing so I dont have to start all over with all the moeny. So I'v been looking at few quads.

Which one do you guys think I should go with?

go with the 04 trx or the 07 yfz

the 04 has the things you need and want but couldve been beat pretty hard esp in mx

the 07 yfz is incredibly clean no preformance parts but its an 07 and was aparently in good hands before you

but either one i think youd be happy with
good luck!!!

i would say the 05 trx, its the closest to what you had and looks very clean. i would say the 04 is probably pretty beat... or maybe the 07 yfz but i'm biased against anything with black plastics.

I plan on doing NEATVMX next year. Im 15 right now. Alot of the money Im getting this year will be going towards a truck so I cant dump a ton of money into this. I kinda like the 07 Yfz450.. but its gonna need a lot of work to be competitive..

Im liking the 04 Trx the most I think.. It wont need much to race.. Just some beadlocks, tires and steering stablizer... I dont think he used it for mx just by looking at the tires.

if your gonna be racing go with the 05 and attempt to find a stock exhaust then you can production to get a feel for things before spending all the money on suspension and what not.

the production class is the stock class in NEATV, there is a Production C and a Production B class. you have to be pretty much stock, but you can change a few things.

Here are the rules for the class...
Production Stock **
The following may be changed from stock: tires, rims (offset allowed )
Hyper Tech wheels with center hubs included are allowed ,internal
portions of the motor and transmission, sprockets, chain, handlebars,
steering stem, steering stabilizer, braided brake lines, air filter element,
carburetor jetting, internal carburetor modification, front bumper, rear
grab bar. Shocks may be re-valved. The relocation of the chain roller
accepted. Fenders may be trimmed or after market plastic added. Nerf
bars and tether switch required. Aftermarket brake rotors are allowed. No
other modifications allowed!! No removal of air box lid or any air box
modifications at all and no outerwear covers. Stock exhaust must be used
and no removal of packing silencer or baffle. No axles, a-arms and no
wheel spacers, no aftermarket or bolt pattern changing hubs, no swing
arms, Stock shocks and springs must be used and shock in OEM location.
All external engine and all drive train parts must be stock including
carburetors and all electrical system .This is an open cc class. A
different year shock may be used as long as it’s from the same make and
model machine. No external OEM performance parts allowed. Top 3
riders in final points standing must move up. An aftermarket axle can be
used but it must be stock width.

Here's a helmet cam video from last race...

Either the 07 YFZ or the 04 TRX...

motohanks: 3rd gear 3/4 throttle will get ya over the one right before the finish line. Brake late, gas early. Watch out for the rocks LOL

haha, thanks dude. yeah, I was being a wimp last race on the jumps and slowing down way to early for the turns. Hopefully I am going to the practice at that track on Sunday so that I can get my head out of my butt and start getting wins again. I also need to get used to my other "new" built yfz that I just bought last week. It feels so much different than the "stock" yfz I was ridding in that video. I was expecting more power and better suspension, but I wasn't really expecting the pegs and handlebars to feel so different.

and to exrider12...
If you are willing to race in the production class and put off having an aftermarket exhaust and suspension for the season I would recommend the 2007 yfz.
