I finally got a pic of my ranger. 1999 ranger XLT 2wd 3.0 v6 I paid $3g for it and it has 99k miles on it. Think it was a good deal?

cant just paint rust. but that sounds like a decent deal.

i bought a 98 ram 1500 laramie 4x4 quad cab short bed with the 318 in april for 5800. 78000 miles. aboslutely no rust and not one thing wrong. this is my first truck as well.

seems all ford pickups and suvs of those years and body styles rear bumpers rust to heck...my 97 exploers rear bumper rusted to nothing...was like that when i bought it...and my 01 that i just bought ove teh fourth of july had to small rust spots...i had it sand blasted and line-x'd along with the running boards...

ya i bought it from my uncle and yes I would of loved to of gotten a extended cab. and my blaster fits fine in the back with about 3 inches to spare on the side. I cleaned it up really good today and he hit a deer last winter with it so it has new front fenders, front bumper, grill and hood.

Its a 2wd as I said in the original post.so I am not taking it mudding. If it ever snows that much Ill drive my parents 4x4 trailblazer. How much would it cost to lower it?

are you sure? its escaping my mind right now but i remember there being something about the 97 and older rangers front suspensions making them more expensive to drop

ahh for some reason i was thinking 96, i had a 99 4cyl 5spd that i dropped. you can actually drop the rear like 3 inches safely by flipping the shackles and then you only need to buy the stuff for the front. they look real good with like a set of 17s or 18s when you put em down. i had 18s on mine but they were cheaps one i bought off craigslist because i was only using that truck for back and forth to work.

It looks like its in good shape for a 99 dont see to many rangers that look that good. I got my 98 dodge dakota 5.2 v8 4x4 auto 73,000 miles for 5 grand and it was in great shape.

its not that bad for a a daily driver besides the fact that you cant keep the dam things alined well

and if you get over about 6 inches of lift or over 35 inch tires stuff starts breaking.......fast:ermm:

I think I made out a little on my first truck. I bought it down the road, a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 4.0. I offered the guy $3200 and he took it on the spot. It had 72k miles and all I did was buy new tires and drove it for a year and put it out for sale on my front lawn and sold it in 45 minutes for $4900. They are nice reliable trucks, only problem I had was with the power locks other than that, no complaints. Definitely a nice first truck and very easy to maintain. Good luck with her and nice truck/
