Well I was finally able to install my leveling lift kit on my truck the other day and got an alignment done .. so tell me what you think .

It's a Truxxx 3" front strut spacer with 1" rear blocks .

Before.

Looks good. Now you need bigger tires.

Wheels and tires are next on the list , well maybe after a set of side steps. :p

I'm going to wait until next spring to buy them since Nitto is comming out with a new style of tire this fall that seems really nice .. plus they won't be available up here in Canada until December or so.

I'll be going no bigger than a 33" tire. Guys at the tire shop the other day were trying to sell me some Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ tires .... a little too agressive for me though.

Toyota trucks look like a bloated version of their past model years.

Looks better but still needs tires/wheels.

18" KMC XD Hoss w/ BFG M/T's maybe in a 35".

;)

I agree it needs wheels and tires .... but not the XD stuff ... EVERYONE and their brother has XD series rims. I'll stick to a max of 33" ... don't want to completly kill my gas mileage.

Pro Comp also makes some wikkid looking tires ... as long as they have the right bolt pattern for your vehicle.

The new Toyotas are a PITA to find rims because they switched over to the 5x150 pattern , where as most every other manufacturer runs a 6 lug on their half tons. There's only a handful of rims that work.

Looks good but not my cup o' tea. I.M.O. for how "fat" the truck looks it needs to be about 5 inches taller. But looks better none the less.

Edit- on second thought you need this 12" lift

Anything with a lift over 4" , you need to start hacking away at the frame and you have no choice but to run 35s . I'm not into hacking a frame , especially when a truck is still under warranty and the practicallity of running 35s is not for me.... if I was younger maybe , but with a wife and kids in the near future it's not an option .

Thanks for everyone's comments though.

ever think about supercharging? I thought I saw TRD came out with a supercharger not that long ago for their 5.7

edit: 07 08 TRD supercharger on ebay for $5300 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/07-08-Toyota-Tundra-TRD-Supercharger-V8-5.7-2007-2008_W0QQitemZ200363296967QQcmdZViewItem)

Ya I've looked at them ... too much for my blood. It's like $7000 for me to buy it , then another bunch of $$ to get it installed. No thanks !!!

I don't know anything about the Tundra but if it is anything like a Silverado then you have to consider the wheel bearings (over $500 for parts alone for each side) and the pitman and idler arms. If you plan on going with big tires, make sure to research the true cost of beefing up all the other stuff too. It is definitely more than just looking at the gas mileage.

This is true! I have found this out researching on leveling 2500 GM's. It is not as simple as "cranking" the torsion bars like most think/do. Luckily companies like Cognito make support arms for the pitman/idler, etc to make everything last more then double the life of stock.

A lot of people do have XD wheels, but man are they awesome! They have a lot of nice looking wheels right now. I like the new black/machined Hoss.

It looks MUCH better, congrats how do you like it? Once you get some wheels with a better offset and some tires it will look way better too. Looks like you on your way to a sweet truck though.

So far so good . I didn't want to bring it up too much .. and even with the leveling lift , you can notice the difference in height . I kind of have to hop to get into the truck ... the fiancee says it's time for side steps. :p

Yeah wheels and tires are comming next year. Like I had mentioned , I'm waiting on a certain tire to be released and available up in my neck of the woods.

what do you mean by anything?

not to be a smartass but you don't need to hack at the frame.. you need to properly lift it.. and you dont need to run 35's, 4" you can fit 33's nicely, even 31's.. it may look dumb but you can run them. i run a 6" suspension lift on 29" tires right now... just untill my 35's come in but it works.

The front cross member has to be cut out and the new parts welded into place ... and by doing that there's no chance of ever returning it back to stock later down the road if I wanted to sell or if I have to bring it in for any warranty issues.

With the way the new Tundra's suspension is setup and the frame is layed out , you have to also hack away at the body mounts in order to fit 35's , also if you go with a 6 inch suspension lift you cannot run your stock rims and tires ( which I have to do for the winters) because of rubbing issues .
