400ex Carb ?

i read here and there a 400ex carb is better on a 300ex but do you have to have any mods like exhaust or anythinglike that major mods for it to work right?

i have a k&n filter but no pipe

I have a K&N filter w/ stock exhaust. I noticed a big gain in low end torque and throttle response. Jet isn't big enough so I can't speak for the top end yet. I will be changing it tomorrow.
