I have an 88 r and just had the engine completely gone through and rebuilt. Stock cylinder and bore LRD pipe and silencer,38 mm carb. My problem is that it will idle for days and cranks great, revs up quick in neutral but when you take off it wants to cut out and sputter.Tries to clear out up top but never quite does. Also seems to have a lot of vibration when you rev in neutral.Any ideas???

I had a motor done in a shop once, and they had my counter balancer off by one tooth, shook, rattled, and cracked all kinds of stuff before i figured it out. the other sounds like jetting.

i bet you need to rejet. 250r;s vibrate quite a bit if you can ride and not notice it, then its fine, but if its still easily noticible when riding it around under power, then you need to pull the clutch cover off and see if the counterbalencer is in time.

I think something is definitelt wrong because I have another 88 r and you cant hardly feel any vibration in it when it revs.would that cause it to seem to bust out when you go throttle up?It has a lot of vibration when going through the throttle also. Thanks guys for the info!!

I bet you've got some nice riding out that way. Is there any good riding spots out there??? I live on the beach, you should make the trip to Busco Beach sometime........its probably only about 3 hrs. from you. Lots of good riding......check out the site buscobeach.com
