Polaris introduced its 2010 RANGER lineup to Polaris dealers tonight at the Xcel Energy Center in downtown St. Paul, MN. There lots of news, including new models and more power from the 800s. New models include the new RANGER 400 midsize and the RANGER EV, the first RANGER with an electric motor. Here is the lineup with some notes:

2010 RANGER Models

Full Size
• RANGER 800 HD™
• RANGER 800 XP®
• RANGER 800 XP® EPS
• RANGER® 800 6x6 – NEW MODEL
• RANGER 500 H.O.

NOTES: The 800 HD, 800 XP, 800 XP EPS and 500 H.O. all have more power than last year. The new RANGER 800 6x6 combines Polaris 800 power with true all-wheel drive from 6 wheels.

The 800 models’ 800cc EFI Twin produces 15% more horsepower. It has a top speed of 53 mph/85.3 km/h and it now has a new ROPS-Certified cab and the new low noise transmission is 30% quieter.

Midsize
• NEW! RANGER 400
• NEW! RANGER EV
NOTE: The RANGER 400 has a 500-lb. cargo capacity, 1,000-lb. payload and 1,250-lb. towing capacity. It is powered by a 455cc high-output, carbureted engine that generates 29 hp and a top speed of 40 mph.

The new EV is an Electric Vehicle that is nearly silent when its 48-volt, 30-hp electric motor is running. The all-new RANGER EV electric Side-by-Side rides on the same chassis as the RANGER 400 and has the largest battery pack in the industry (11.5 kilowatts) and the longest range of any electric midsize. It has a 35-45 mile range, 25 mph top speed and two hours of riding time between charges. It has three modes; High for speed, Low for towing and hauling, and Max for maximum range. It has On-Demand True All-Wheel Drive, and for traversing more sensitive terrains and a better turning radius, it also has VersaTrac with one-wheel, rear-wheel drive to prevent damage and better navigate tight areas. The RANGER EV has a 500 lb. Lock & Ride cargo box with 1,250 lb. towing and 1,000 lb. total payload. The motor can be recharged by plugging the vehicle into a standard 110 outlet, and PURE Polaris has introduced an accessory quick charge kit for quick charges between rides.

Multi-Passenger
• RANGER 800 CREW – NEW
NOTES: The CREW has been redesigned and its 800 engine has more power than previous 800s. The CREW now has a ROPS-certified cab. Even though the wheelbase stayed the same, there’s more passenger legroom. There’s also enhanced steering and a low-noise transmission that’s 30% quieter. CREW colors are Sage Green, Solar Red and Mossy Oak Break Up, and there’s a limited-edition Sandstone Metallic.
