07/08 swingarm on a 05 YFZ450?

My buddy has a 05 YFZ450 and is wondering if there is a way to get a 07 and up swingarm on it.

Yes you can upgrade but you need several things. 06+ swinger; 06+ axle carrier; 06+ rotor hub; 06+ rotor; 06+ caliper. And you have options on the shock/linkage/dogbone. Basically they need to all be 04/05, *or* all need to be 06 and up. You can't mix an 05 shock with an 06+ link or dogbone for example. Here are two links for more info from the ******** forums. I'm about to do mine -- so I'm not speaking from experience just what I've read other people have done.

And the 04/05 swingarm guards don't work on an 06+ -- so that's another item to replace...

The links don't work, but Squadie is correct.

In addition to the swing-arm you will need at the min.
06-up carrier
06-up caliper bracket
06-up caliper
06-up rotor
06-up rotor hub
The '05 shock, dogbone and link will work with the '06 swinger.
The '05 shock will work with the 06 swinger, dogbone and link, but your ride height will be a little lower. Good for lighter intermediate riders, bad for heavier riders and expert riders in MX. Real bad for XC.

You can not use an '06 shock with an '04-05 dogbone and link.
