just put a ricky stator in my 86 250r because i was not getting a spar and i figure that was the problem. i am still not getting a spark but when i go to check for one if i kick it over and then make contack with the head the plug will spark, but not when i am kicking it making a ground to the head. i pulled apart the entire harness and nothing was shorting. i took out my handle bar controlls and voltage regulator ebcause i will not be running lights, any help pleas i am ready to throw this thing away.

sounds like bad ground or bad coil wire

or stator pickup corroaded

well i checked and i have power going into the cdi box from the stator, there is not power getting into the coil though so i orderded a hotshots cdi box.

My buddy and I noticed this too. It seems like some stators will only work with certain cdi boxes.
