i am wanting to buy a good set of riding boots i hurt my foot pretty bad on a 60 foot double and now realize avoiding buying boots isn't a option anymore!

so whats the best and the worst?

Spend the extra money and get a pair of higher end boots. I have Gaerne Sg10's and they are extremely comfortable. They really soak up a lot of the shock from landing short, bottoming out, etc.

I just have some Tech 3, they are pretty cheap, seem fairly comfortable, easy to take on and off, and seem to weigh about the same as the rest of em.

i agree that the sg10's are the best boots out right now. i've rode alpinestars for more them 10yrs and it took alot for me to switch to another brand cause i loved my Astars to much. has bout 5 pairs of them over my days of racing/riding. i finally sacked up, made the switch to gaerne sg10's and will never buy another pair of boots unless there gaernes. best boot on the market in my opinion. there expensive, but well worth it one you walk/ride at the track. you'll think you have sneakers on. there bad@$$ :D

OK i did some ebaying and found some of them sg10's for 400$ but the only problem is there on eBay so i don't have a clue what size i would be and i cant try them on obviously. so my shoe size is a 10 what boot size should i pick up?

I've had Fox Forma's, Alpinestars Vectors, and now have Alpinestars Tech 8's and the Tech 8's are the best boot I have ever worn. There is a little break in, probably just a ride or two, but once that's over with they are a very supportive boot. My only complaint was that the insoles were a bit flat. Once I added padded insoles to them, it's like riding on pillows!

Look into the Tech 10's, the Gaerne SG10's, and SIDI boots as well ;)

You want to go one size up from what your shoe size is. If your a 10 get a size 11

if your going with the sg10's then go with your normal shoe size. i wear a 10 in sneakers and i bought a size 10 in the gaernes. they fit awesome. the dude at motosport where i bought them told me that gaerne runs there boots a half to full size bigger. cause when people usually order boots they buy the same size boot as they wear in shoes. and they give you a bit more room then normal to compinsate for riding socks, ankle braces ect.

might as well just wear work boots, those are meant for pitbikes, that wont save your ankle on a quad!!!

I dont really like my Forma pros, the clips tend to fall out, my next boots will be A-star tech 7's

AXO. That's all I have used for the past 25+ years, and the only boots I will ever buy.

i LOVE my Berik's. too bad the company went out of business. :( have heard A LOT of good things about the Sidi's and Gaerne's. one of those will prolly be my next set.

I've been looking at the SIDI Crossfires. I tried on some Gaerne's and they're not made for people with smaller size calf's. I wear a 13 and they don't fit around my calf fully synched... Crossfire's do. :)
