400ex problems

i got a 400ex i traded a blkaster for that needs some work heres my problems..

it wouldent move when i got it so i put in a used clutch i haD BUT I THINK THE SPRINGS ARE BAD THBEY MEASURED OUT AROUND 47MM WHEN THE SERVICE LIMIT IS 50? WOULFD THAT GIVE IT enough not to move? also the clutch lever pull is very tough and has n freeplay at all it has wicked spring action? bad cable?

also very loud tick in the top end i adjusted the valves right and put a crf 450 chain and its a 440

i had the same ticking problem after i adjusted the valves i would pull off the valve cover and take a look at the rocker arms that ride on the cam put mine was wear the &^%$ out

ill check it out, anyone know anything about the quad not moving? clutch springs?

Ticking you might be hearing could be the compression release. When at idol it has to manually swing the compression release out of the way. When at speed it spins out of the way due to rpm's. Could be a aftermarket cam along with it there pretty loud.

As for clutch's I dont know yet to have to replace a a clutch in mine.
