I'm in the market for a 4-wheeler, and decided on a YFZ450. I found a 2006 se near me on Craig's list for about $3,400.

If everything checks out (i.e. clean air filter, good oil, no frame damage, rides/shifts smoothly), do you think that is a fair price?

Thanks
Andy

don't forget to check out all the shock mounts for any cracks and the frame also. stand it up on the grab bar and check the whole underneath as well... it looks good in the pic, but i would definetely inspect the frame and all that just to be safe

Sweet glad you guys approve so far! I may go look at it today. I'm going to try to get him down to 3k because I need the extra 500 to spend on sand tires and a helmet. I just wanted to make sure I'm not getting totally ripped off.

you say riding sand?? get rid of that k&n and buy a foam. k&n's love to suck up some sand.

when you check the bike pull off the airfilter and look into the intake with a flashlight, if you see sand/dust, walk away.

K&N filters are BEST used in sand. Sand and dust are 2 completely different particle sizes. Sand is huge, dust is tiny.

I bought it! I haven't got to ride it too much but this thing is insane! It pulls wheelies like YZ-250 (2-stroke) did. Now I need to get sand tires, how much should I expect to pay (including the wheels)?

Rocky Mountain is also a good place to get wheels/tires. You can use PayPal there unlike MotoSport. Free shipping if the order is over $100. I been gettin ALOT of stuff from them...

From the looksof your first pic (only pic) of it, if he didn't ride it much, why are the front tires near bald??? Get the oil changed, pull the carrier out and make sure the bearings are good, grease it up, check the brake pads, etc.... Do a good once over on it to make sur eEVERYTHING!!! is in top shape. I paid $4500 for mine and it had tons of stuff on it. Hipers, Flexx bars, full Sparks system, AC skid, nerfs, and mudscreen bumper... WAY to much to list... You got a pretty decent deal IF it is truly low hours...

CONGRATS!!!

What size of helmet do you use??? I have a large I want to get rid of pretty cheap. I also got a set of boots, jersey, and pants. Hit me up in an IM if interested

I took a short video of the YFZ. It's in HD so click the HD option for the best quality video:
