if they were too short I'd be concerned, just compress them and install them. Use a pry bar with a rag or a shop towel on it and pry them in.

those are 250r a arms, not 400ex, and the reason they don't fit is because they're not made for that set up, and DO NOT, pry them in, you risk a balljoint fallure by doing that!

your best bet is to cut and drill the remount bracket, you do not want the shocks to over extend the a arms/ball joints, thats how you get seriously injured when those ball joints break.

or they're aftermarket 300ex a arms, i cannot tell if the bottom ball joint is adjustable, if the bottom is adjustable they are aftermarket 300ex a arms, which would explain the reason they don't fit because the mount location is different.

Call ASR or Lone star or burgard tmrw..maybe even JB and ask them for the shock mount location measurement difference in the 300ex, 250r and 400ex a arms, that'll tell u for sure, then u can decide from there what you do based on your answer

Did you ever figure out your a-arm problem? If you bought the shock relocator braket off e-bay for a 300ex to fit 400ex shocks then the a-arms you have are probly 300ex +2 or +3. My stock 300 a-arms are about 9" give or take 1/2" from the frame mount to the center of the ball joint and my stock 400 a-arms are about 11" give or take 1/2". The tab on the lower arm to mount the shock is closer to the frame on the 300 than the 400 at least an inch differance if not more.

well it was rather easy for me to get the shocs to fit actually i get let all the air out of the floats and they shrunk to fit. i rode like that for a little and then just bought burgard 400ex +3 which brougth me to 50 inches and we were all set
