View Full Version : replace stock thumb throtle with aftermarket

i was wondering what is needed to change out the stock thumb throttle on 07 irs. the stock is just to big and bulky. Any suggestions on where to get new parts. thanks

nothing really just buy an aftermarket one. The only other thing is youll have to do it cut and splice the factory safety switch so it will still start just in gear

Just find a 450R throttle. It will screw into stock cable and just unplug your throttle sensor and your good to go. This is how mine is set up and have not had one issue.

personally i would not get i terry cable, i had a dual gasser on my lt250 and did not like it at all.

thanks for the info. i want to go with the quick reliable and comfortable solution. Any specific honda 450r year or does it matter?

I heard C&D racing makes a kit to make the throtle a little easy on the thumb too. Maybe Call them and then let us know.

We have a really nice kit for the outlaw. the factory cable will work just fine
