I have an '05 Z400 with the stock rims and tires on the front and back. The front tire is a 22x7x10 which means the rim is 10" and on the back 20x10x9 which means the rim is 9". So i have been looking at new rims and tires, and some claim they fit my ride, but are not the same size as the ones i have now. My question is, is there multiple size tires/rims that will fit my quad or do i have to stick to the stock size? Thanks for the help.

You don't have to stick with the same size. As long as the lug pattern is right and the tires are matched to the rim its fine.

Only thing you might want to consider is the larger the rim the less sidewall. So it will land slightly harder and its easier to bend a rim.

Tires size will will effect your gearing and other stuff I don't know much about. I do know I like the stock tire sizes.

For Mx use: Front, 10 inch 4:1 rims, 20x7x10, rear use 8inch rims, 18x10-11x8

for XC: front 10 inch rims, 21x7x10, rear use 9 inch rims, 20x10x9

these are all average sizes, some people like to have them slightly different than what ive mentioned. This is just what i like. Just make sure the last letter in the tires, 18x10x 8 is the same as the 8 on the rim size

So basically as long as the lug pattern fits they will work...but how do i figure that out?
