Ive seen them as low as like $1000-1200 for some. Then again I have seen them around $3000-3500. Depends on the year and tire condition whether they have stock or aftermarket. You could prolly find a really nice early 2000's with maybe a slip on and holeshots or something for about $2000-2500. Im not sure what the newer ones with reverse go for used. Kinda watch ebay! I just seen one go for 1145. Looked like it was in really good shape from the pics but im not really looking for one and it was too far away from me.

In this economy, you can get one for dirt cheap. People are loosing their jobs left and right. They need to pay bills somehow. Play toys are one of the first things to go. Craigs list is your best bet, but always look at as many as you can, and be patient.

Well i paid 900 for a stock 2000 model with low hours. My friend got an 05 for 800 in good condtion. If I were to go back I would get an 05 since it has reverse. Its not needed but its nice to have if you can get it even though these bikes are light. So I think anywhere from 900- 1500 for a good 99- 04 and about 1800 - 2500 for a 05 and up model.

Man I want to find these deals. I have bought 3 this summer.

A 2002 for $1800 - Pro Armor all around, slip on exhuast

A 2000 for $2000, Works shocks all around, full exhaust, extra set of 4 tires, seat cover

A 2002 for $1000, all stock, bad battery and no rear brake caliper, other than that nice.

I just traded an AR 15 that I built for about $700, for an 04, with 2 unmounted brand new Holeshots for the front, enough spare parts to build another engine, and a Keihin (sp?) motorcycle racing carb, that has a twist throttle with dual cables.

The guy was a "2 stroke guy" and tried to rebuild the top end, and didn't set the cam timing right, couldn't get it running and gave up on it. He was all stoked about the gun too.

I had running and riding in 2 hours. LOL

$800 for an '05? I rarely see a 400ex advertised on our craigslist for less than $2000...even for a '99. I think there's a lot of private sellers around my area that don't seem to understand the difference between KBB dealer pricing and private party pricing. That, or they think their quads are gold plated...

i search craigslist everyday in multi area codes and i have never seen a 400 ex(any year) for under 1000 and even around 1200 its gonna be a basketcase. i would say that if someone bought a 05 for 800 it is HOT!!!!!!

Well, like I said, the $700 I had in my rifle just got me an '04, and other than the cam timing issue, it was in better than average shape, good brakes and suspension, no busted plastic, etc.

And it wasn't hot, I have the title in my hand. The guy just really wanted a gun, and for some reason, hates 4 strokes.

Sometimes you just get lucky.

What do you think? I have 4 new tires for it BTW.

I shopped all over before I bought mine a few months back. The cheapest '05-up I found was $2200 and it looked abused. I found mine advertised at $2750 and got it for 25, stock except a slip-on and jetted, in good shape. The cheapest 99-ups I saw were $1200 for something that needed work.

What kills me is seeing '08 quads advertised for more than what new leftovers go for. $6500 for a used one with a couple mods? No thanks.

You just have to wheel and deal with em. I found mine i was kind of leary of the price cause it was in great shape but i was worried it might be stolen but the dude got it from the honda shop nearby and I talked to the guy that serviced it for him so i knew it wasnt. The guy with the 05 bought it from a guy he worked with. Again he was just needing money for a car so he basically gave it to him. Since the economy is crappy its a buyers market so there are good deals to be had. Ive even seen pretty good 450r's going from 2500- 5000.

What is this guy thinking? $3800 for a 99? I don't care if it's mint, you can buy a brand new leftover for a few hundred more. Why do people think their stuff is gold?

I love how it says "Weisco Pistons" as if there's more than one.
And he couldn't even spell it right.
