Guys this may sound silly or seem dumb, we went to St. Anthany Dunes and I ran race fuel with an 86 ignition box, my stock box, and I had a hard time spinning 22 in haulers. Checked jetting and when I got home order a new dome from ct racing for 5000 feet. My buddy says it could be my ignition box and maybe it isn't getting a hot enough spark. What is your experience with race gas and ignitions and CDIs.

How many paddles on the haulers? Could be your gearing. what's done to the motor?

Motor is a ct 350 pv motor with a top end port job. No Air Box running PWK 39.

14 tooth counter sprocket and the rear is a 39 tooth.

Paddles were 7 hauler, 22 inches tall.

Pipe is a trx 11 centermount pipe

When you say it had a hard time spinning the Haulers, are you saying that it falls on it face and you have to double clutch it to get it going?

I don't know if you guys know choke cherry hill at St. Anthany, but I get about half way up and the power just dies. It pulls crazy and then just dies off. My 250r buddy just laughed and we are trying to figure out what is going on. Carburetor problem. Checking out this weekend. Interchangeable dome ordering a new one for 5000 feet. Ignition or cdi I have no clue.

If you have a top end port job and a top end pipe then that's where you need to keep the RPM's when running the hill....Hills are a great place to find the weak spot in your engine. Who set up your power valve? Is it set to open quickly? How long has the motor been together? Have you cleaned the power valve?

Never too many details......

thats alot of elevation change and yes ive been up that hill,

if you have a pipe that only makes power in the high rpm range you will up and die when u fall off the pipe n dont down shift n clutch it to keep it in the powerband.

I agree on the pipe...if everything else is as it should be, and have a high end pipe, it'll be worthless out of that power band area. I had a Paul Turner hi-rev on mine when I first got it, and the throttle wasn't much more than a "light switch." It would come on strong as hell, but power was very narrow and very high- if you weren't in it, it wasn't fun.

I went to one of our local riding areas and went out and cruised around and came back to do some jetting. Went out on another run and it ran worse. Went back to the parking lot and to go richer and I noticed the top end gasket blown out in the back about a good half inch. Crap now I am back to square one.

It does have a top end port job

I don't believe there is any damage to the motor luckily I ordered a gasket set when I ordered the top end. I think I am Still going to have my carb bored.

id be willing to bet that this was the root of the problem to begin with low compression due to head gasket leakage on top of a couple minor issues.
