I have to make sure a hone will be ok, but if it is, I need a std. bore piston. I found a pro-x on ebay for $65 shipped, and the best I can find a wiseco for is $121 shipped. Is the pro-x ok? or should i get the wiseco like I have run in the past? or does someone have a new 66mm piston kit laying around? thanks.

I use a pro-x in my big bores, nothing bad. The issue might be the piston clearance, a forged(wiseco) requires more for the piston to expand, a cast(pro-x) expands slower and more evenly with the cylinder.

forged is stronger and more resilient to preignition and detonation then cast. also they will last longer.

Cast pistons are known for breaking off skirts after they get worn.....A forged piston will flex before breaking and give you that piston slap noise. After rebuilding bikes that ran cast pistons i became a forged piston guy.
