i did a search and after sifting through hundreds of posts i gave up and just figured id start a new thread. i know weve discussed this before the maxxis razr and maxxis razr2 rears. im wondering what works as good or better and is cheaper? my pred is due for rubber as the current tires are just shyte and are scary on trails especially with the torque this thing makes, so id like something thats good all around like the razrs are. also do you guys change your own tires or have a shop do it for you?

GBC X-Rex tires are by far the best tires I have run to date. Side by side to the Maxxis tires you can not tell a bit of difference. They are 6 ply rated and are one of the few tires that come with a 6 ply front tire.

I recently bought a full set off of ebay and they are only $145 with free shipping for two fronts or two rears.

I have a local shop change out the tires for me. They only charge about $25 or $30 for taking off the old and popping on the new tires.

That's a pretty good price. You have an ebay link to the tires? I'm gonna buy new ones in the next week or so. Gotta see what they're gonna charge for shipping into canada and figure out dutys and stuff. I'd like something that will really bite good in the mud and dry trails.

I'm not sure what my neighbour has on his new arctic cat dvx 400 but heyre stock and work great.

What size are you looking for?

Whatever the stock size is on a 400. Its the same as my pred and ill be damned if I can remember the size off the top of my head. Lol

Stock size on the 400 is 20x10x9. Most people upgrade to the 20x11x9 like I did. Here you go :

perfect thanks alot.

with the 11 inch tire is there any fitment issue on the rim? does it sit nice and square? and also did you notice if the rear end feels a little more sloppy side to side due to sidewall roll?

from the looks of those tires it seems like they have a much more aggressive side lug than the razrs do. they look good.

I had zero issues with the 11" fitting on the stock rim. It fits extremely well...nice and square. As far as slop goes, it is non-existant. I have no complaints at all with these tires.

Here are a few "real world" pics of the tires right after I got them mounted :

Those look great man. Quad looks good too. I guess being 6 ply they're pretty stiff. Thanks for the help. I just emailed a local place for a price for these. From the looks of it that ebay guy won't ship to canada.

I've been running ITP Track Star 6 ply tires for almost a year now on trails only and have'nt had any problems. They work great in snow and mud and you can still slid em around a corner when the trails are dry and dusty.I got the front pair for $108 shipped, and the backs were $110 shipped. It looks like this guy ships to Canada.

Here is the link and item# if the link doesnt work

Right on. Thanks. I'm gonna more than likely buy from 2kool performance only because he's canadian and shipping is decent with no duty charges.

the trac stars are seriously underrated tires. I have them on the 400ex and theyre awesome.

Good to hear. By looking at the their biggest advantage would be the ability to clear themselves out while in mud. But they lack blocks like the razrs do. Although my neighbours arctic cats tires look similar to those and they work great. I've seen him crawl through narrow ditches where I've had to goose it on my half worn razrs. That being said the wider spread blocks probably bite really well into softer surfaces and don't sit on top of it. I'm waitinfor my guy to get me a price on them. They seem to be the cheapest so far and seeing how well my neighbours work I think they'd do pretty damn good.

Yup that's what he said. I'm thinking anything being sold is old stock right now. My biggest concern is being hit with duty. I can get those razr looking tires to my door for a decent price. The guy guarantees me I won't find a better price than through him even with shipping and from everyone I've talked to his prices are good.

thinkin about it i can probably get it done cheap here, they charge 15 bucks per car tire with balancing.

Well, the $25 to $30 price is for all four tires off and all four tires put on the rims. That makes it about $6 per rim/tire.

Oh ok I thought you meant just the two rears. That's a good price then.

Kenda Knarlys are a highly rated tire, and very reasonably priced.
