Just from looking at the pics you snapped i can tell he has had trouble with the case saver as it is no longer there. If the saver had snapped the case mounts that would be a great worry for me. Many times the only way to fix that is buy a new case. The machine looks well used and put away wet but that is a cheap price. If you were handy i would say go for it. But if you let someone else wrench on your machine i would stay away from that one. Also it looks like it needs a new chain and bumper is missing.

Alright thanks. I want something that's going to last as this is a 'big' (to me atleast) investment. I want to eventually get into racing one day.

I looked at this last night but didnt reply yet....then I looked again today. Well here's what Im thinking. $1800.00 not bad for a 450r. But.......few items of worry....the ones all ready mentioned. Also I see the frame is black (along with the kick start and clutch cover). So.....this means most likely the motor and all the parts have been removed from the quad for either painting or powdercaoting. Im not saying.....but im just saying.......looking at the condition of the rest of it....I dont know how well i could trust the current owners attention to putting everything back right (if he did it....could have been done before...dont know) and Im also curious what the logging chain is all about. So.......I would look at it like this....
$1800.00 not bad....will you be putting some $$$ into it very soon......likely (if the outside condition is bad....usually the inside has been taken care of the same way (oil change oil filter air filter etc.)

For a little bit more I bet you could find one in much better condition.....
But if you really feel ok with this one and have some mechanical ability ( cause I have a feeling your gonna need it) then go for it....
But I beleive I would pass on this one...even at a good price..

WHAT IS THAT WIRE THAT IS WRAPPED AROUND THE FRAME AND THE RETURN SPRING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL?? And like the other guys said and very well noted. If he doesnt care to run a case saver ( i cant tell if the mounts are snapped) and no front bumper, he probably didnt care for this maintenance for the motor.
And like you said " I want something that's going to last as this is a 'big' (to me atleast) investment. I want to eventually get into racing one day." THIS IS A BIG INVESTMENT WHICH CAN BE BIGGER WHEN YOU TAKE A LOOK ON THE INSIDE! I would stay clear from it no matter how good the price is. She may be ready to lock up and shatter the cases.
Even though the price sounds good, its not good enough for this one. Be patient and look for one that someone really took great care of it. It will pay off in the long run for your quad and your wallet. Good luck and hope you find what you are looking for.:)

bike looks like it really just need a good cleaning, the powder coat was done right you can see that by looking at the tags on the front. the only thing that bothers me is the front sprocket bolt welded on??????? if so run like the wind...... but other than that it would not hurt to make an offer of let say 1500.

This bike has been rode hard. Sometimes you can come across a deal, but this is one of those "you get what you paid for" type of things. It's hard tellin' what's happend to that quad.

Buddy of mine just bought an '05 with a DMC pipe, DG nerfs, and Holeshots front and rear. If the bike had 10 hours on it thats an over estimate, and got it for $2500. I see your from NJ. That's where we were looking cause I've seen that bike. I wouldn't trust it too well. I was thinking of it for parts, but theres better deals than that for cheaper. Also my bro got an hour old bone stock except for an HRC kit '04 for a new freestyle bike for $2300. Both were mint and not much more than that one. Def. better deals out there to be had.

trust me from experience YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, I would DEFFINATLY keep looking, like said above there are better deals out there on MUCH nicer bikes. I promise you might spend 1800 on it now, which isnt bad, but you will be paying more then that when the motor grenades... i would keep looking.
