boring a pwk 39 to 40.5

I have a 39 pwk and I had several people that owned some R's tell me to get it bored to a 40.5. Are there any benefits to boring it out? Will it make a difference?

I have one, and you have to rev the hell out of it, 37-38mm carbs are perfect for all around riding....

will help top end. i had a 39mm on a 246 stock bore ported way out with a trx9 pipe. was a fun ride, powerband would pull the front end up.

I ride in the sand and do a lot of hill climbing. Right now I am running a Ct 350 powervalve with a top end port job and trx 11 center mount pipe.

What do you guys think, beneficial to bore the carb to a 40.5?

Appreciate the post. Talked to K&T Performance and they are going to bore the carb for me. Forty five bucks.
