I got a bone stock 06 trx450 a few months ago with fairly low hours on it. When I say bone stock I mean BONE stock. So I threw some renthal bars on it...shaved the plastic and headed to the mx track for the first time in 4 yrs. Our local track has one class for quads....atv open class. So I'm lined up on the gate for the first moto on my stock trx with half bald stock rear tires(I guess the previous owner liked pavement burnouts...moron) with three built yfz450's and one piped ltr450. Gate drops and I pull the holeshot by a bike length! Same thing second moto!! These other riders are no slouches either. One of the riders on a yfz races the expert class in the TQRA series. Now I ended up getting 3rd in both motos but its not my quads fault...I gotta get my butt in shape!! Just thought I'd share my story and let everyone know...That's why I Ride Red!!!

My first Mx race was around the same to holeshots in both motos against built quads.... but mines built now and still pulling holeshots....lol

but that said you must be one hell of a drag racer or the others are not as good as you think

in stock form even our mighty 450r's are a little sluggish
(no match for a built yfz w/ expert rider)

o yea well on my first race on my 450 i lapped all the other riders... not once but twice! and the bike was so stock it still had the factory shine to the plastics.. :eek2: :eek2:

No hrc kit. Like I said...its bone stock other than the renthal bars I put on it. I know for sure that 2 of the guys race the pro class at another track about an hour away and 1 of them races the expert class in the tqra series. The next race is july 25th so I'll let ya know what happens:)

It is possible I used to do it all the time with mine all I had was a pipe and an air filter and won many a races in D14 quad B.

I pulled the holeshot on a pro-am rider on my honda lol but its built and he was on a honda too though he killed me after that though haha actually he let me gain half a lap to see if he could catch up. I dont think he wants to admit I got it on him though lol he says his bike was messing up but idc im still happy lol.

too many "aginst the odds" things have to happen for a rusty rider on a stock bike to get the hole shot on multiple pro level riders with built bikes.

maybe it was practice laps and they wanted to let some riders out in front of them to practice passing lines ?

i haven't raced there yet. i race at sundance all the time and at dora once in a while. keevin is always around at sundance. he's very quick and his bike is built to the moon. not to bash you or anything, but if you beat him outta the hole, it was because he wasn't trying. that bike he's got pulls like a freight train. your honda wouldn't stand a chance against that thing if he was really goin for it. i'm trying to get a bunch of quads to go to river valley on the 25th.. right now i've got about 7-8 guys that will more than likely be there. my number is 597, red n black 450r, maybe i'll see you there next sat.

Mjc597....I hope it works out that u guys can make it to river valley. Its hurtin for some quad riders. That's the reason for the one atv class. I'm not sure what happened that allowed me 2 holeshots but I was very surprised and excited that it turned out that way. Keevin may have been holdin back hopin for a race...guess I'll never know:)

I have a 06 450r that Is a freak also. I bought It from a friend that raced It for 1 full season. This thing just loves to be run HARD!!! I believe that If you break your engine by running the heck out of It, It will Learn to like It LOL!!!

I recently put a 02 CRF cam In mine, now It runs even better. When I first bought It, all that was done to It was the airbox cover was off, a 175 main was Installed, and the baffle was out of the exhaust. Once those little things are done, they run VERY good.

I heard about this race from the guy on#77.Trust me,he isnt slow either,he couldnt believe his built(Rage top end,Fox Floats,you get the picture)got beat off the gate..You guys dont get that you can actually overpower a track,especially on the holeshot.Seth.Im thinking of coming up with the bunch Mike is bringing.
