I have been talking to some different people about cams Duncan racing says there cam is better and Gt thunder say thier cam is better some say the xr400 cam is the way too gowhat is the best cam to go with Marcums saya the gt thunder and duncan cams are the same grind as the xr400 cam.Should I be installing a different cam or stick to the xr499 cam.

I say get the GT Thunder cam. They have tested about every cam on the market and found the one they are using the best. I now have the Web Cam but, when I re-do my motor I will switch to the GT Thunder cam.

I don't think that the XR and GTT cam are the same, completely different power bands.

XR-low to mid
GTT--mid to top

I hope I helped!

Maybe because GT thunder is burnt down so you can't get them right now..I'll go with the xrcam,,,cheaper,,easy drop in part,,and have heard very good things about them.

I picked up a cam from TC Racing and its beiag installed right now It is his gncc national cam. It is supposed to be really good. It is a bottom to mid range cam not a top end cam. It is a drop in part I am not hardening the rockers. TC says keep the oil clean and no prpblem. $179.00
Also getting a .080 bore porting and polishing and a timimg advance key.

I got my XR400 cam a week ago and love it but its a mid to top cam I lost a little bottom end but I'm putting in my 440 kit this weekend so that shound make up for it. Lots of people post here thats its a low to mid cam but its not I checked from 5 different shops before I bought one and they all said it was a mid to top cam. :)

Let me know how you like the cam. I want to get the GNCC Cam and 425 Piston Kit from TC. I would go TC all the way.

TC does have a website now. It`s TCRacingEngines.com. He has the home page done, but you can`t click on anything else after the page loads. I can`t wait for it to get done. I should be getting my TC pipe Friday or Monday.
