I live in Wheeling & it's about an hr. As for hillclimbs, I'm into em, but I ride by myself alot, so I try not to get to crazy. Plus I don't know if I'm ready to watch my bike roll back down the hill & disintegrate like that guy's in the video.LOL

I would cry! I rolled mine down a gravel mound about 50' and bent my stem, destroyed my electrical switch box and about broke my ankle. I felt like a dumb***** cause I was showing off and stalled it trying to hill side donuts. needless to say these 2 blondes were not impressed. LOL!

Hill climbing is events where you try to make it up the hill without stopping. That vid is like 3 or 4 years old it has a 400ex in it that made it up. Its alot of fun most people have extended swingers and alot of horsepower to make it up em. It looks easy on that vid but its alot trickier than you think. Dudes banshee got trashed cause the catchers didnt stop it fast enough lol.

That vid doesn't hold a candle to the hills in trevorton...

Look up "z50guru" on youtube and watch some of his vids.

I'm getting better and better at hills. Ever since the banshee was running I grew a bigger set of nuts as far as climbing hills goes. I still gotta work on it, but im getting there.

Screw the 400ex. At some of the hills up there, on my relatively stock 400ex, screw that. They just don't have the power.

So you are saying your banshee would had did better on that hill than that black one in the vid lol. Ive done a few on my R. Its mostly about leaning and being able to weight shift your quad. If you just try to keep it pinned while going up straight your going to be a world of hurt lol.

I'm not saying my banshee would do better then the one in that vid, but that guy didn't know proper control.

250r's are great hillclimbers too. Any 2-strokes in my opinion. They get in that powerband and it becomes really hard to drop out of it.

I usually always stand up when I attack the hill, and about half way up if it looks smooth I sit down.

The 400ex just isn't up to par hillclimbing. It doesn't have enough power. They're good for small woods climbs, thats about it.

That was a 400ex on there it was doing ok but i figure it prob wasnt stock lol. The dude i like the dirtbike ones but seems like its easier for them cause them bikes dont weigh near as much those guys were crazy though. Id feel safer doing it on the quad lol.

That's not a 400ex. It's been so long since I have seen where I saw this, but that is an LT250R with 400ex plastics. lol.

Nice hill section, kinda tame but pretty nice none the less.

We have a few where we ride. One is about 20 to 30 feet up its pretty damn steep, its hard enough that you dont walk up it unless you have to. It is even harder cause there is a lip at the top causing you to rear back on a already up incline, causing you to land in a wheely most every time. Its rough but not hard.

We have another one on same place in part of the race trail its pretty straight up and down not to high though just gotta remember to slow down as of the trees lmao.

Then there is another place we ride that has the biggest I have hit around here its prob a good 60ft give or take top to bottom and very steep. I have been up and down it with ease.

Nothing like on the video but its all a matter of what you can not only physicaly handle but mentally handle. If your nervouse or scared dont do it you will end up pausing when you should go or freaking out and you will end up hurt.

Always ride safe within your own limits.

In Michigan, we hold the AMA state final hillclimbs out at our motorcycle club site. PHMC will not allow quads though, only bikes (I think they tried the quads and too many people got hurt). We hold 1-2 per year at our site and team up with Westbranch and Muskeegon to have events at their hills. All events are timed.....start line at the very bottom of hill (no 50ft run ups). I have worked the hill and its a lot of work and fun. Heres a link to our site www.phmc-usa.org. I will see if I can post some pics of the last one

http://www.phmc-usa.org/ we'll see if this one works better. We have a brand new Dirt Drag track with Porta tree timers and time slips too. see site. Races today...I got sidelined but will be at the next. Also Ice races, dirt track and Mudboggs.

I'm not a hill climber and usually don't even look twice at a hill... Yesterday I was riding a new trail I've never been to and looked to my right and saw a hill about 15-20 feet high and pretty rutted out and pretty straight up. Not sure what I was thinking but I went for it without even thinking and to my surprise I made it and now I'm hooked on it and can't get enough of it.
