88 250r Will Not Shift Into 6th

MY FRIEND HAS A 88 250R AND IT WILL NOT SHIFT INTO 6TH GEAR. HE HAS PUT 2 SHIFT DRUMS IN, EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD IN THE TRANS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFO? THANKS!

shift componets put back together wrong, or missing a spring. maybe a shift fork has gone bad.

maybe you miscounted? lol 1 down 5 up. man thats puzzeling. maybe someone else will chime in.

was it shifting all six prior to something going wrong in the tranny?

when you guys had it apart did you bench shift it before putting the halves back together?

what you may want to do is remove the chain and try to shift(through all the gears, starting at 1st going up and back down) while rocking the sprocket.

bench shifted just fine as soon as a load is put on trans it will not shift into 6th reason for pulling trans apart was a broken shift drum
