need help with yfz or ltr

ok i trading my trx400ex and crf230f for a 450 atv.i have two people wanting to trade me.one has a stock 2008 ltr 450 the other one has a yfz450 Bill Ballance Edition with a hmf pipe. i was scared about the ltr cause of the 3rd gear problem and the yfz i dont know if the Bill Ballance Edition has the oil mod problem i heard only the 05 and 04 have it but i not sure please help what should i get.

What year is the YFZ?

I would go with the LTR just for the fact it's a 2008... that's definitely worth more then a 2006 (which im guessing) YFZ. Although I like the YFZ's more, that would be a steal on your part for the LTR. They're still great bikes all around.

Just make sure you get a title.

its an 07 the yfz. and im scared about the 3rd gear.is there any thing wrong with the 07 yfz

I have an '08 YFZ and the '07 is identical, I haven't had a problem yet. I bought mine new last summer and have done Cam-Mod, ESR intake and Dasa pipe. Hasn't missed a beat yet.

-I also like the LTR's and if I was in your situation I would probably go with the LTR.

In that case I would go with the YFZ. I like them, personally. The oil mod is only on the 04's and 05's. Yamaha fixed the problem by 06.

Every year the YFZ got better. 07 is a really good year. My friend has one, real nice quad.
