05 450r kick start case problems

any body else busted the side case that the kick start is on, ive busted 4 in the last two years, are there any aftermarket cases available that are stronger than the stock one

why is it breaking? ive never heard of anyone breaking cases without something inside letting go

That normally happens when the kicker lever gets sprung back from hitting the throttle while kicking it over.
Can also happen if the carb isn't tuned right causing it to kick back.

Ive never seen aftermarket cases.

most common is from giving it any throttle while kicking it.

thats how mine cracked, i let some one eltse ride it and that what they did gave it gas while starting it. i have never had a problem since i only ride my quad now.

yeah i just fixed mine make sure there is no worn teeth on you kicker gear and make sure your decompression on your cam is adjusted it will make extra stress to kick it over.. and never hold the throttle open while kicking it does bad things.. some say the crank main bearing can start to move side to side and cause binding that woul be last resort.. good luck
