whats wrong with my valves

i just got my 03 400ex back together bout two weeks ago and sense then i had to adjust my exhaust valves to get it running and now that it runs the valves make so much noise what can i do to adjust them so they don't make noise when i ride it???

are you sure you adjusted them right?

im sure that i adjusted them right if i adjust them to tight the bike won't start i have to find the proper adjustment how do i do that
