idk if anyone else had the same problem or just some kind of freak accident or if i did something wrong but i had two different hot rods cranks and both lasted 2 races then blew through the bottom of the case and split it in half complete GRANADE:( so im just statein my experience with hot rods and i will never go back

Hot Rods cranks have always worked well for us. They are currently updating their crank shafts and they won't be available for another month.

Yea I kinda don't wanna wait a month especially since it could be more than a month, I emailed hotrods and they have no specific time

I spend the weekend working on Curt's Razr ( Curt owns Hot Rods, Pivot Works etc) He told me they should be in by the end of July but of course no guarantee but it was a necessary update to improve the product.

So does that mean that those of us that have the older Hot Rods cranks have a inferior product because of the "necessary" update?

I have actually been running a Hot Rods Stroker crank in one of my 450R's for almost two years, not one problem with it. I sure would like to know what the "necessary" update it though.

I have been running a OEM crank in my other 450R, have not had any problems with them either. Honda does sell a "updated" crank for the 04/05 450R's. I do not know the part number off the top of my head, but a search on here should find it. If you do not want to wait for the Hot Rods crank, a OEM crank is your only option. (Or Falicon, but big $$$$.)

Yea i would just get the updated OEM, in fact i think you go order a crank kit for any 04-05 it comes with the updated kit, i THINK, i would double check tho first but i think OEM would be fine

According to PITTMANSPOWERSPORTS, Honda now makes a crank kit for the 04-05 450r motors; part number 13090-hp1-315, the kit includes the crank, bearings, a new collar, and a larger seal to accomadate this new collar. You can also just order the seal and collar seperately if you want to avoid this happening to you with part numbers 91202-hp1-672, and 91202-hp1-671.

That is copied and pasted directly from trx450r dot org, so unless this info is wrong that is the part number you need.

Go look at bike bandit, when you go to order a crank for an 04-05 i comes with a full kit
