Frame Question

Question about the 250R frames. Are they as big of junk as the 400ex frames? Im getting ready to send one for PC and wondering if I should gusset also? I wont be racing it but it will get ridden. Previous owner put supports on the uppper rails behind front shock mounts and cleaned up and added to alot of the factory welds all over the frame. The frame is an '86. Thanks.

Being that it is 23 years old, if it hasn't been cracked and welded a bunch of times already - I'd say they are probably pretty decent or it hasn't had a rough life.

I've seen many frames that are garbage and beat 7 ways from Sunday but a good gusset kit can stop a lot of cracking so it's not a bad idea. I think it also depends on your weight, anything 175lbs and under you should be fine - over that and hard riding can cause lots of stress.
