i bought a quad in awesome mechanical condition but the plastuc looks liek garbage... what do you guys htink about putting a clear coat over it without any paint to make it look a little nicer and shinier, its an 01 400ex

try maxima's sc1 clear coat. its a silicone based lubricant for the plastic. it isnt perminent but it brings back that new quad shine and makes it a little easier to clean because the mud dosent tend to stick as much.

I would try what ECOR said. If you clearcoat the platics, then get scrathes in the clear coat dirt and dust will fill the scratches and you wont be able to get it out.

dont clear coat them. the previous owner of my quad did it on 2 sets of plastics. on one he did 3 coats and on the other he did 1. it looks good for a while but 3 days after i bout it and maby 4 hours total siiting in the sun it was all cracking just from the heat
