I recently acquired a nice 88 TRX250X from the second owner who had it since 1991. It ran fine from a cold start but quickly bogs just off idle. It's a nasty flat spot that kills the quad.
This is a completely stock quad with the exception of the Moose foam air filter.
Here's what I have done so far:
1) Compression: good
2) Valve lash: good
3) Cleaned and flushed the fuel tank and filter screens
4) New spark plug
5) changed the oil
6) thoroughly cleaned and rebuilt the carb using a Moose rebuild kit.
7) cleaned and oiled the air filter
I'm not sure where to go with this next. It runs in the mid range ok if you can get it there. I triple checked the pilot jet and circuit - it is squeaky clean like the rest of the carb.
Anyone have any ideas.
