ok im sure this was asked before and somewhere on this site but im new to it and not quite sure how to find everything yet so heres my question..will the 09 400ex rear fenders fit on a 05 400ex? i kno the front fenders dont but the 05s rear fenders are hidieous and i cant find any after market ones..

all of the 400's rears are the same, through all of the years...even maier just uses the same mold. sorry...
you could mount up a 450r seat/fenders.

Wrong, The 08 and up are like the 450rs and you can remove the seat without the plastic.

Have you seen the 08 and 09 bud? :confused:
They are way different.

Bout your question i dont know becasue on 08 and 09 just the seat comes off with out the rear plastic like on older models. So i don't see it working rite because ur 05 wont have the brackets to mount the plastic i odnt think unless you conect it to the seat somehow?:confused:
Soemone will know for sure though.

i think one guy did it, but you have to make new mounts everywhere, and i dont think the new rears would match up with the old fronts....

it aint worth it then..i was hoping it would bolt right up but oh well..does anyone know of any nice looking after market plastics?

As far as I know, I think all models of aftermarket plastics are the same as factory ones. You can change color, but not style. Trim them a bit. There's several cool threads about guys who shaved their rear plastics. Some like it some don't, but it's the only way to change the appearance of your backside (I think).

yeh thats what im starting to realize..im just going to order these sick joker graphics atleast make the rear fenders worth looking at..i was going to shave them like the new ones but one little slip or screw up and i got ruined fenders..i just think the 09s look so much meaner because of the rear fenders
