I have a crankshaft with the bearings already installed. Is it safe or ok to use a crankshaft puller to pull the crank with the bearing into the case halves?

if the bearings slide off do it with your old crank.. if they don't come off I'd have to say it's supposed to go in that way.. just grease em up first.

My advice would be to put the crank assembly in the freezer overnight. When it's good and cold, warm the case halves in the oven until they're very warm to the touch. Next, assemble the cold crank into the warm case halves, and the bearings should slide right in. Once it all evens out to room temperature, the bearings will be snug in the cases without having to have been forced in.
