Hey fellow atv'ers, I have a question about the clear snorkle thats connected to the air box. Do you guys take this off or leave it on? If you take it off, what advantages or disadvantages dose it make? Any help would be great!

I just took mine out cause i didn't make a hole for it in my aluminum air box. If you have a stock air box i see no reason to take it off unless you don't like the way it looks. I don't think you get an advantage to taking it off

I haven't had my 400 for long, but if it were me and I wanted more air flow I'd cut holes in my lid. At any rate, I would leave the snorkel in place. I think it would draw air off the back of the hot engine if it wasn't there.

Thanks guys ill leave it on, the reason why I asked was my friend has a 99 440ex with tons of mods and he said that he took his off. That was the first that i heard of that so I wanted to ask you guys. Thanks again!

I took mine off, plugged it with a lid from a can of spray paint, and cut two big holes in the airbox lid. Been running this for over two years now.

If you're not planning on going scuba diving, you should take the snorkel off.
