has anyone tried an updated 250 2-stroke carb? (cr250, yz250 and etc.)

i know the yz250 is still in production and would this add some modern performance?

i believe it would add some performance to the carb, but some of the newer ones have a tps on it which you have to yank. I think the air styker is the best carb money can buy imo. If you can find one cheap thats old school with no tps, go for it.

I have an '02 YZ250. It's basically a Keihin 38mm PWK Air Stryker with a throttle position sensor and a "power jet". All the power jet does is richen the mixture up to about wide open throttle, which many tuners will tell you does nothing.

Really, there's nothing special about it compared to the 38 PWK AS I bought for my 250R. Maybe it's a little shorter, that's all.

Well, lectrons make awesome alky carbs. They can be a great gas carb as well, I just wouldnt spend the extra cash if your on gas. Especially when you can buy a airstryker for new for 165 bucks

they are a simple design and work great.....once you have the correct needle installed. If not, they are impossible to get right. On gas, like I said, you wont see big improvements compared to a airstryker carb. Their advantages come into play with the larger carb selection and better atomization for alky setups
