Can some one tell me the differance? Does the 04/05 trun better then the 06/09? Or is it that the stops on the 06/09 need to be grided down? Is it worth the money to get the 04/05 spindles and hubs?

04/05 totally different than 06+. Makes it handle 10 times better! you also need 04/05 upper a-arms

They have different geometry and give better handling characteristics. Worth the investment.

Mark Baldwin told me its all in what the rider prefers, 04/05 will make it handle better(not a huge change) but its all in what you like. I put the 04/05 hubs and spindles on my 06 JB/PEP setup and it made it 48 and a quarter wide so i wondered why i lost that inch because im usually 49 and a quarter so i called Mark and he told me to put the 06 hubs and spindles back on. That brought back the inch and it handle just as good. But when your running JB/PEP its like riding a cloud! lol

With caster adjustable arms, you can get the 06+ spindles to handle fairly close to how the 04/05 spindles handle. Still not as good though:blah: Now, if you were riding stock arms, 04/05 is without a doubt the better of the two.

My 450 is an 08. I order 04/05 Houser a-arms. I will let you know if it handles any different then my 04 450. I can't see paying the money for the 04/05 spindles and hubs. Well see?? Thanks!!

Scro how much caster do you run? I ran about 5/8" in on my 04 with the same set up.

I run -1 degrees for XC.

I ran XC also. But I am not sure what 5/8 " converts to in degrees. I am going to try the 04/05 houser arms with the 08 hubs and spindles. Hope it works good! Thanks!

dude..... if you dont want to spend the money on hubs spindles just get the 08 arms from houser...... they are different lengths and you may run out of adjustment.

I was going to get the 04/05 spindles and hubs but I what to know what the big difference is. I already have the arms. If they don't work I will have to get the 04/05 stuff. I got my shocks in today. I will let you know!

the big difference between the two is the length of the upper a arms lengths.... the 04 05 have a little bit longer length....

I put 04/05 spindles and hubs on my 06 with roll design for MX and I had to change how I rode the quad because it turned so quick. It was the second best thing after the precision dampner. I traded a 04 yfz for a 06 honda and that be the first thing I change.

Ok went riding this week end. I can not tell a difference in my 04 spindles and hubs compared to my 08. The only thing that needs to be done is to grind the steering stops off the 08 a little bit. I thing the 08 truns just as well. I do have the 04 houser arms with the 08 spindles and hubs.

It's the steering ratio that is the main difference.. If you get on a 06 and newer, stand on the bike, and turn the bars, the outside wheel from whatever direction you're turning turns in a little bit more then the other. the 04 and 05 setup turns like the old 250r's do, almost symmetrically.. that being said, when you have the outside wheel turning in more then the inside, the front end pushes. makes it tippy. some people get used to it and like it for tight trails and stuff. but I say F' that. I hated it...
