I aquired an 87 trx250x, with a smoking engine. I removed the piston cylinder due to rings were about 3/32-1/8" gap. My question is, it looks like whoever opened this up before me, put in a high compression piston. Is there any way of telling what brand the piston is, by the # on it? Or are the rings pretty much standard - common sizes to replace? I do know that the piston is a 75mm. Looks like a new piston was put in with old improper rings.
