i recently got the head milled on my '86 250r and was wondering if anyone knew how much ft./ lbs. of torque to apply to the head bolts?

Just tighten them till they feel really snug. Seems to work for me.

Holy ***** your not really gonna do that are you!!!

Get a hold of a manual before you have to take everything apart again.

I dont know much about torque specs on the 250R but the 400EX head bolts torque @ 33ft lbs and the guy who is using 20ft lb you had better go back and get them right.

He said the HEAD bolts, not valve cover bolts. And the valve cover bolt should only be like 10ft lbs.

Head nuts should be 24-29 N-m or 17-21 ft-lb.

The cylinder base nuts should be 38-48 N-m or 27-35 ft-lb.

Follow the stock specs ..no more than 1 or 2 lbs more ..
