AC Racing exhaust with a Uni and Outerwears along with an open box style K&N lid. I have it jetted at 42/158. It pops a bit on decel and wondered what jet to go to next, 162, 165, 170? When I jetted it I never did turn out the fuel screw which I will do this time around. It runs very strong, but I would think with the slight pop on decel I am still not where I need to be.

A slight pop on decel is normal. By the time you get rid of it you will be running rich. Have you checked the plug? Your jet numbers sound about right.

Slight pop on decel is also a sign of an exhaust leak. Rule that out first.

I would do the opposite and go to a bigger pilot.

Keep your pilot at 42. You can try messing with your air fuel mixture but I would keep it at 2 1/4 turns out. A little popping is ok. Mine pops a little, it always has. I've tried getting rid of it, but have had no luck getting rid of it all together.

That might have something to do with running a 450 carb. But im no expert.

Yes it does, check this out from jetsrus.com

"When purchasing main jets don't forget a few larger pilot (slow) jets. Pilot (slow) jets will reduce or eliminate backfiring when letting off the throttle and will help improve cold weather starts."

Has anyone here ever gone over a 42 pilot?
