in auctions people always bid high prices at the start? i thinks its very stupid?i ususally wait till the last minute to put in the bid...not 3 days before hand

I put high bids on stuff and it draws attention away from other buyers.

i don't understand whats high about 3k for a mint 08 raptor 700 i think thats at least along the right lines if not low...

I didn't mean literally high, they just didn't start the auction at 1.00. It always killed me when people would get on eBay and say "holy crap, you can buy that for 99 bucks" and the auction would have 6 days left on it. I usually try to start auctions out low enough to get attention, but high enough to keep the youngin's with no money from bidding.

ya but the thing is...why waste ur money...last minute bid would win it...not a bid for an extra 40$ 3 days before

Proxy bidding man. If you bid 1500 and the person below you bids 1400, you win the auction for like 1410 or something like that. If I really really want something on ebay, I put in my max bid and try to forget about it til the auction is over.

i often see the first bid made by someone with zero feedback.. it makes me think its a fake user, created by the seller to help gouge prices.

Yeah, I see that alot. I use a sniper program to bid for me.
