400ex clutch plz help!!

I dont understand the clutch lever and spring inside the clutch cover i put it back on truning the lever put it wont go over far enough for the cable to reach . tryed for 2 hours and same thing everytime i adjust the cable all the way out and it still wont hardle reach. im stuck

did you run the cable in front of the oil cooler? and that spring has to be put in a certain way so it slides right on with no troubles or it wont work. good luck
