yeah it will do a search to find out what you all need to do the swap. there are a few good ones around that tell exactly what is involved to use the 450 swingarm. good luck, steve

The swing arm I am looking at has the linkage for the shock and the axle in it as well, the only thing missing of the complete swingarm would be the hubs the sprocket and the brake hub/cylinder. Now if i replace mainly the entire swingarm i have heard mixed things about the rear shock fitting but some say yes and some say no. I have read that the axles are different between the two but since the 450r swingarm comes with the axle i will just switch out completely. my question is will it work knowing this information and where if any do you see there being any problems. will the current hubs from my 400ex fit and brakes and sprocket. If anyone knows please share some info thanks Mike.

As far as i know the hubs are the same so that should not be a problem. i am not sure on the shock, but if you use the whole back end of a 450 you are set. I know that there is a small difference in the carriers between the 2 but you will not have to worry about that. I know some years of the 450s had longer swingers and some were the same length as the 400. you can just get a sprocket and stuff from a 450 to go on the axle. The brake assembly is different on the 400 so that will not be interchangable. that is why most people actually do this mod, to get the 450 rear brakes. some do the fronts too just a bit there for you. steve
