Well, I'm doing some maintenance on my bike before the next race coming up in august. It has a rekluse clutch and its been dying on hard braking. I took the cover off and noticed some rubbing on the clutch cover. Is this normal?

also, is this gap ok? I could fit the feeler gauges that came with the clutch about an 1/8th in, but then they hit.

By the looks of that basket either your not using the thicker gasket to space out the clutch cover, or you got some shot basket cushions or the worse case scenario bad crank bearings causing the basket to walk around.

If you can't fit the tools in then you definately don't have too much clearance. Maybe you don't have enough, did you put new plates in since you have had it? Can you move the plates by hand? The plates should be loose enough that you can move them around but tight enough that you can't get the gauges in.
The Rekluse comes with an extra metal plate that is thicker
and meant to be installed when the fiber plates start to wear, maybe that one is in there now and there isn't enough clearance.
Did you get and any other parts for the clutch when you bought the bike?

If that doesn't make sense, give me a call and maybe I can explain it better.

My basket also has some slight rub marks from the cover, but not that bad. I have a larger cover you can have if you want it. It says SRP racing, I think. It' the blue on that I had on there when we went to St Joe.

thicker gasket from rekluse should solve your issues...:blah:
